The St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office has identified the body pulled from Lake Pontchartrain earlier this week.

The body was identified as Philippe G. Lannelongue, 58, of Kenner. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said his body was found near Manchac. Advertisement

Lannelongue was confirmed by the coroner as the boater who went missing in Lake Pontchartrain over the Labor Day weekend.

His death has been ruled an accidental drowning, according to the coroner.

On Sunday, Lannelongue and his girlfriend were leaving from the Bonnabel Boat Launch, headed out for Mandeville, when an accident sent the couple into the water.

LDWF enforcement said the two struck a bridge and were ejected from their sailboat.
