BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The City of Bakersfield announced the closure of the east and northbound lanes of California Avenue between Stockdale Hwy and Real Road beginning on Monday.
The closures are coming after the repaving of California Avenue and sidewalk access ramps at intersections compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards or ADA. There will also be improvements to the street's drainage, manholes and median.
City officials suggest taking alternate routes during the duration of the construction.
The construction is set to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 27.
