LAKE WALES, Fla. (WFLA) — An injured officer and his K-9 are in good spirits but still not able to return to work after being dragged several feet by a fleeing car, according to Lake Wales Police.

Officer Sean Robertson and his K-9 Bolo visited the Lake Wales police station on Thursday.

“He was obviously limping. He’s very sore. His leg is still, I would say, 1.5 times the size of his other leg. His calf is really bruised up now,” said Lt. Dale Hampton with Lake Wales Police Department. “The dog was even still limping.”

Lt. Hampton said both Officer Robertson and Bolo have more doctor appointments ahead before getting back in the field.

Their need for recovery stems from an incident on Sunday.
