FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A jury found a man guilty of stabbing and killing a Waynedale Kroger cashier nearly two years ago.

Members of Perla Nieto’s family say they’re thankful not only for the guilty verdict, but also for the community’s support since the tragedy.

Nieto’s youngest son, Patrick, spoke alongside family members Friday.

“The appreciation of the city of Fort Wayne, we just couldn’t expect any more or want anymore. Just they’ve always been there, everyone’s always been there for us,” he explained.
