A local nonprofit is asking for the public’s help in bringing a new music series to Jackson.

Downtown Jackson Partners announced Friday that voting is open to help the nonprofit win up to $120,000 from the Levitt Foundation for a free outdoor music series at Smith park. The grant must be won through public support, so residents are asked to click here or vote by texting, “JACKSON,” to 877-409-5525. Voting closes Sept. 15.

Liz Brister, president of Downtown Jackson Partners, said landing the grant would be a huge step in the nonprofit’s mission of revitalizing the capital city’s downtown district.
