PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- In honor of National Read a Book Day, players for the Bradley University basketball team took time away from the court Friday morning to read stories to kids at OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois.
Three Bradley players, senior wing AJ Smith, freshman guard Jackson Seastrunk and fifth-year guard Alex Huibregtse all went to the children's hospital in Peoria to bring joy to children and families and also promote literacy.
"It's a great opportunity," Smith said. "We're blessed with our abilities and talents that God gave us, but some people don't have that ability. So it really means a lot to come in here and just spread the word."
