LIPSCOMB, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The mayor of Lipscomb, Tanja Baldwin, held a Friday news conference to announce the findings of an investigation into an incident involving law enforcement and several juveniles that occurred on Aug. 31.

A home security video showed Lipscomb Police arresting three teenage sisters in the front yard of their home, sparking outrage online.

The incident unfolded Sunday, Aug. 31, outside the Pitts’ family home. Video from the family’s driveway shows two officers confronting the family before threatening to take children to juvenile detention .

Mayor Baldwin said a comprehensive investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office reveals officers acted within proper procedures and legal authority.
