JACKSONVILLE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Jacksonville State University student who was reported missing earlier this week has been found safe, according to the university.
University Police received a report Sept. 2 that James Nichols of Ohatchee had not been seen since the early morning hours of Aug. 28 .
Nicholas was believed to have left campus in his vehicle traveling north on Highway 431 in Glencoe at 3 a.m. of Aug. 28. Officials later said that his car was recorded in Pawling, New York on Aug. 29.
On Friday, Sept. 5, the university confirmed that Nicholas had been found safe in New York and had spoken with his family.
