PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — The Florida Department of Transportation has removed the Black Lives Matter mural that was painted on North A Street in Pensacola.
The mural was removed Friday morning after FDOT officials sent two letters to the City of Pensacola saying it violated traffic control device standards.
FDOT told Pensacola officials that the mural had to be removed by Sept. 4, and that if the city did not remove it, FDOT would.
Pensacola officials sent a letter back to FDOT asking them to remove the mural and saying Pensacola would pay for the removal.
