ITHACA, N.Y. (WETM) – An Ithaca man has been arrested on multiple charges after officials say he engaged in sexual acts with a child near a parking garage in the city.

Zachariah D. Waite, 31, was arrested on the following charges, as stated in a release from the Ithaca Police Department: • Sexual abuse in the second degree • Endangering the welfare of a child • Public lewdness

Officials say Waite was charged with the crimes following an incident that occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 3, around 4 p.m. At this time, officials say they were called to the area of the Seneca Street Parking Garage in Ithaca for the report of an adult engaging in sexual acts with a child.

Upon arrival at the scene, officials say they found and identified the adult as Waite and then took him into custody. The
