GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — With the opening of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' temple, located at 678 Horizon Drive, the Grand Valley Transit (GVT) will be offering increased service on Route One on most Saturdays in September to improve access and decrease area congestion.

The route, which connects Downtown, Lincoln Park, Colorado Mesa University, Horizon Drive and the Grand Junction Regional Airport, will offer free fares and an increased frequency of service every 30 minutes for the entire service day on Sept. 13, 20 and 27. Service operations and fare costs will not change on other days throughout the month.

Residents using GVT to visit the temple's open houses are recommended to get off at Northwood Apartments instead of the Safeway side of Horizon. Volunteer fl
