Residents on Ashford Drive in Eastford received quite the surprise after a herd of cows escaped from a nearby farm.

Around 9 a.m., nearly a dozen cows ran on the lawns at Ashford Drive, before being escorted back to their home.

Tony Marques was lucky enough to catch the surprise visit on camera.

"We don't see anything here, we don't even see the neighbors,” he said excitedly.

Marques said the cows were only on his road for a few minutes, but it was the highlight of his year.

“They were there for a while then they went back and of course they destroyed most of the grass here but yes, it was an excitement, I think it was the excitement of the year," Marques said.
