JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) -- A missing Jacksonville State University student was found safe in New York, according to JSU officials.
James Nichols, a 20-year-old student from Ohatchee, was reported missing on Tuesday after not being seen since Aug. 28. His vehicle was seen in Pawling, New York on Aug. 29.
JSU confirmed that Nichols has been found, and he has spoken with his family.
"From the moment this report was made, our public safety professionals have worked tirelessly, and we are grateful for the outcome," JSU Police Chief Michael Barton said in a statement. "We want to thank the public for the tips and information shared, as well as our law enforcement partners across the country who assisted in this case. Their cooperation helped us bring this to a safe resolution."
