PALM COAST, Fla. (WFLA) — A man who'd gotten lost in a Florida swamp was rescued by deputies during a dark rescue mission last month.

It happened August 28, after Flagler County Sherriff's Office deputies were alerted that a man had been lost in local marshland in the dark for more than an hour. According to the report, the man got lost after a heavy downpour in the area. Weather conditions were so bad that search drones were delayed in locating him.

Ultimately, the sheriff's office said they pinpointed the man's GPS coordinates from the initial distress call, which allowed them to locate him and come to his rescue on foot. FCSO body camera footage shows a deputy and commander wading through Princess Place Preserve in search of the lost man.
