(NewsNation) — The Coast Guard is mandating a fitness test for all members, and there have been a few changes.

By the end of the year, all Coast Guard members must undergo a physical fitness assessment, which will be used to determine future policies surrounding the fitness test.

The mandated fitness test involves push-ups, a plank hold, a 1.5-mile run, a 12-minute swim and a 2000-meter row.

Standards vary across genders and age groups. The highest benchmark across each category is as follows: • Push-Ups: 29 • Planks: 1 min 18 seconds • 1.5-mile run: 12 minutes 29 seconds • 12-minute swim: 500 meters • 2000-meter row: 9 minutes, 20 seconds

Planks have replaced sit-ups, and either the row, swim or run can be selected as the cardio element.
