An ongoing project focused on using artificial intelligence to classify bike routes in Santa Barbara County based on comfort levels, is seeking applicants to provide human input on real-world biking experiences on local roadways.
The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments is building a 12-member ad hoc working group to work with UC Santa Barbar a researchers as they guide how AI evaluates the routes.
Applicants will provide direct feedback on "comfort factors" like lane width, traffic speed, and volume. Participants will also test the classifications to confirm they match cyclists' experiences on the ground.
