OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - One high school in Omaha had a special addition to Friday night fever.
Burke High School’s stadium was redone for the first time since it was built in the 60s. It’s bringing new life to Friday night lights, and it was a push from one small group that brought it to fruition.
Burke High School’s new stadium was on full display at Friday’s football game.
“It’s like a breath of fresh air,” said Burke High School senior Brayden Pickett.
The 8 million dollar project was years in the making.
“Kind of a reinvigorated atmosphere here, said Lisa Carlson, Burke High Alumni Association President. ”Maybe it is indicative of having the new stadium and people feel like its a fresh start."
