SELIGMAN, Ariz. — A suspected arsonist in Arizona is in custody after allegedly setting two campers on fire and targeting a third in late August.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office and Seligman Fire responded to a report of fires off Conquistador Parkway in the Bridge Canyon area of Seligman just after 3 p.m. on Aug. 27.

The area they responded to was close to where several trailers were set on fire by a suspected arsonist last month, YCSO said.

YCSO deputies responded immediately as they were already near the area and discovered two campers on fire in two different locations, and in another location, a camper that did not end up igniting.

Firefighters contained and extinguished the fire, and investigators identified 51-year-old Adam Merriell of Yuma as a suspect.
