Jean McKamey of Port Alberni turned 99 on Aug. 22, and coincidentally her new home in Timberline celebrated their first anniversary on the same day.

McKamey was presented with a cake and sparklers, and family and friends sang Happy Birthday.

McKamey has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 293 in Port Alberni for more than 40 years, holding various positions.
