WESTPORT — The summer crowds are on the way out and as fall approaches, peace and quiet is returning to the Westport River. Now comes the busy season.
Members of the Westport harbormaster's office are starting an ambitious project they expect will take them well into next year and beyond — marking and plotting the town’s mooring fields, finding and removing every derelict and illegal mooring out there and eventually, putting a system in place to ensure that every legal private and commercial mooring in town is regularly inspected.
