While the annual report cards issued by the NC Department of Public Instruction may be mixed for Sampson County and Clinton City Schools, both superintendents say they saw positive growth in their districts and expressed excitement for the future.

“I’m proud of our students and educators who have worked hard to improve these metrics even as we acknowledge that our students are more than test scores,” State Superintendent Maurice “Mo” Green stated in a press release. “While the progress and growth in these reports deserves praise, we must continue our work to promote excellence for all students.”

Both superintendents will give detailed reports of the state report cards to their respective Boards of Education at the regular monthly meetings. Sampson County Board of Education will meet for
