A Toledo man wanted by police for his role in a June robbery that resulted in the shooting death of a teenager has been arrested.

Pete A. Wheatley, Jr., 19, was arrested Friday. He and two other men — Gage M. Bearden, 19, and Robert M. Dorr, Jr., 24, who were arrested Wednesday — have been charged with murder in connection with the June 22 shooting that left 17-year-old Darius Washington dead.

Officers were dispatched to 5825 Dixon Ave. in West Toledo at 5:38 a.m. on a report of a person shot. They found the boy with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

According to court records, the three men were “participating in a robbery that resulted in the death of the victim.”
