Aldi has issued an apology update to its customers as it said "all good things must come to an end." The message, shared across Aldi's social media platforms, comes after budget supermarket Lidl was named Which's cheapest supermarket for the month of July.
Before that Aldi had held the top spot for an impressive 20 consecutive months. For August 2025 Aldi also reclaimed this position, Liverpool Echo reports .
In social media posts shared on Thursday, 4 September, Aldi offered a tongue-in-cheek apology.
The supermarket said: "Apparently we've got some apologising to do. Lidl, we're really, actually, properly sorry.
