MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man wanted for first-degree murder was found and captured in Memphis Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) said.
39-year-old Jeffery White was wanted in the shooting death of Lasheka Johnson, who was found with a gunshot wound in the Vollintine-Evergreen neighborhood on March 26, Marshals said.
According to the Marshals Service, Memphis Police Detectives were able to identify White, Johnson's ex-boyfriend, as the suspect in the shooting.
After being released and readmitted, Marshals said, Johnson died on July 13 due to complications from the gunshot wound. The next day, detectives got a warrant charging White with first-degree murder and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, USMS said.
