At 1:54 p.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 2 p.m. for Columbia and Dutchess counties.

Anticipate quarter-sized hail (1 inch) and wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

"At 1:53 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Ancram, or 14 miles southeast of Hudson, moving northeast at 30 mph," says the weather service. "Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees."

Locations impacted by the warning include Copake, Ancram, Hillsdale, Taghkanic, Copake Falls, Whitehouse Crossing, Ancramdale, Barton Corners, Boston Corner, Gallatinville, Copake Lake, Weed Mines, West Taghkanic, Craryville, West Copake, Mount Riga, North Hillsdale, East Hillsdale, New Forge and East Taghkanic.
