ATLANTA — If you're driving southbound through Downtown Atlanta on Saturday, chances are you have been stuck in traffic for a quite a bit of time.

That's because Georgia Department of Transportation is conducting ongoing roadwork on the Downtown Connector all the way through Monday.

Up to four left lanes will be closed, significantly diminishing the flow of traffic throughout the city this weekend. The construction is taking place between 10th Street and University Avenue.

According to GDOT, "severe" delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to use the I-285 bypass if they are wanting to go through the city.

11Alive will keep you posted on any more traffic updates as we learn about them.
