Several alterations stand out immediately in this fascinating historic photo of Plymouth - particularly the reclaimed waterfront land along the Embankment now known as Blagdon's Meadow, plus the additional curve at Lanhydrock Road's western terminus where it meets the Embankment.

It's also apparent that numerous allotments have disappeared - those at Mirador Place's northern boundary (now replaced with homes) and north of Mount Gould Park (currently woodland). Nevertheless, many have clearly been substituted by the Embankment Allotments, situated in that narrow strip between the Embankment and railway line.
