PROVO, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - Through the first two games of the 2025 season, the BYU defense has been nothing short of spectacalar.
After shutting out Portland State last week, the Cougars allowed just one field goal Saturday night in a 27-3 blowout over Stanford.
The Cougars gave up just 161 total yards of offense and forced three turnovers in improving to 2-0 on the season.
Freshman quarterback Bear Bachmeier started the scoring with a three-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. A failed two-point conversion gave the Cougars an early 6-0 lead.
After two Will Ferrin field goals, the BYU defense got on the scoreboard as Faletau Satuala tackled Marcus Brown in the end zone to make it a 14-0 lead at the half.
