Energy Capital Economic Development has a couple of large companies who have expressed interest in coming to Campbell County.

The commissioners approved $132,000 of the county’s Optional 1% Sales Tax to go toward the nonprofit organization on a 4-1 vote, with Commissioner Jerry Means voting against it.

Economic Development will use the contributions from the city, county and private donors — with each putting forth about $130,000 — as a match for a grant that, if awarded, would fund the organization for three years.
