A pedestrian was seriously injured in a car crash in Bedford Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of South Road and Loomis Street shortly after 6:05 a.m., Bedford police said in a press release . At the scene, they found a seriously injured man.

Firefighters took the pedestrian to Lahey Hospital in Burlington, police said. The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The crash is being investigated by Bedford police detectives and the Massachusetts State Police crash reconstruction unit, police said. No further information has been released.
