RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Drivers are advised to exercise caution or seek an alternative route during overnight hours on I-95 this week.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will conduct nightly double lane closures on I-95 northbound near Route 161 (Arthur Ashe Boulevard) at mile marker 78.5 in Richmond, weather permitting, for a pipe replacement project.

Work will begin Monday, Sept. 8, and continue through Thursday, Sept. 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Motorists traveling through the Richmond area are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
