LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The man accused of running a red light while under the influence, causing a multi-vehicle crash that left a child hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and caused a woman to lose her pregnancy, had a prior DUI conviction in 2021, prosecutors said in court Sunday.
Maximiliano Chavez, 27, was arrested Saturday on one count of DUI resulting in death, two counts of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, and three counts of reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm.
Chavez appeared in court Sunday afternoon, where state prosecutors said Chavez had a prior misdemeanor DUI conviction in 2021.
Chavez admitted to consuming three alcoholic drinks at a swap meet before the crash, with the last drink consumed around 12 p.m. He also admitted to inges
