A man was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries after a shooting in Abbotsford on Saturday night (Sept. 6).

According to an Abbotsford Police Department news release, preliminary evidence suggests the shooting was targeted.

Per the release, gunfire and “vehicles rapidly leaving the area” were reported in the 3400 block of Nightingale Drive at roughly 10:54 p.m.

Police found evidence of a shooting in a nearby parking lot upon arrival and later tracked down a vehicle in the 29980 block of Downes Road believed to be connected.

“Nearby, a man was found suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital,” police said.

The department’s major crime unit is investigating the shooting.
