A pub in Stockport situated on the outskirts of a popular country park is undergoing a six-figure revamp which will result in a major transformation.

The Carousel, on Reddish Road, has temporarily closed today (September 8) as works on the refurbishment get underway. The Reddish pub is situated just yards from Reddish Vale Country Park and is a less-than ten minutes walk away.

The park, which spans 161 hectares along the River Tame, is home to an abundance of natural wildlife, including sand martins and kingfishers, who nest in the river banks. The park's ponds and wetlands are often also visited by geese, herons, coots and ducks, with the park also a popular spot for licensed fishers.
