The New York Giants did not look good during their season opener on Sunday afternoon against the Washington Commanders. Russell Wilson didn't play horribly, but he was not an impact player during his first game with the team either.

Due to the poor showing by the Giants' offense in Week 1, calls have started coming in for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart to become the starter.

Dart, who was drafted by New York with the No. 25 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, looked very sharp in preseason action. At some point this season, it seems very like that he'll take over from Wilson as the Giants' starter.
