JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. (WATE) — Carson-Newman University has its highest enrollment ever this fall, with 2,922 students.
The previous record was 2,911 in fall 2020. This year's enrollment is a nine percent increase from 2024-2025. Students Airyana Bays and Kennedy Stovall have noticed their extra classmates.
"The students here, we have more regular students than athletes and that's been really surprising to see. There's definitely more students on campus," Bays said.
The town is noticing the growth too. Senior Vice President for University Relations Kevin Triplett said the students make an economic impact on Jefferson City and the surrounding county.
