A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Monday at 3:25 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 4 p.m. for Wallowa County.

The storms are expected to bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches).

"At 3:25 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 13 miles northwest of Imnaha, or 19 miles northeast of Enterprise, moving northeast at 5 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."

The weather service comments, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. T
