The 49ers received a mixed bag of news on George Kittle and Jauan Jennings after both starters sustained injuries in the team's Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field.
Kittle, who scored a touchdown before exiting the game in the first half with a hamstring injury, underwent an MRI and will miss "a few weeks," coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters in a conference call Monday. Kittle "likely" is out three to five weeks, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported, citing a source, making the star tight end an injured reserve candidate.
Shanahan acknowledged IR is a possibility for Kittle.
"When they tell me a few weeks, it's always a possibility," Shanahan said. "In order to do that, it's got to be a four-week injury. I don't think we've decided on that yet."
