Choices for Youth has received a national grant to improve and expand its integrated youth services model across the province.
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research is giving $1.6-million to the organization, which is headquartered at Carter’s Hill Place behind St. John’s City Hall.
The integrated model of service delivery includes mental health supports, family-based services, food security services, employment and training, and supportive housing.
Jen Crowe, executive director of Choices, says the grant will help them better understand the combination of wraparound supports for youth.
The team of researchers will be led by Dr. Kathy de Jong of MUN’s School of Social Work.
