COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 19-year-old man pleaded guilty and was sentenced Monday for a shooting in the Hilltop last summer that left a man dead and a woman injured.

According to Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Shayla Favor, Mehki Miller pleaded guilty to one count of murder, one count of felonious assault, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of having weapons under disability. He also pleaded guilty to one count of strangulation from an unrelated case.

He was sentenced to 21 years to life in prison.

On July 28, 2024, officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting in the 700 block of South Ogden Avenue.
