GROVEPORT, Ohio — Groveport City Council voted unanimously to approve the rezoning of nearly 300 acres of farmland for a major development project that would bring thousands of new residents to the area just south of U.S. Route 33.
The project, developed by Addison Properties, will transform 295 acres of mostly agricultural land into single-family homes, multi-family housing and commercial space.
The development is expected to accommodate approximately 3,000 new residents, with plans for about 1,700 homes in the area.
"We would love to have our people that work here live here. And this provides an opportunity for that," Groveport City Council President Pro Tem Edward Dildine said.
