ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Rogers Public Schools is giving an update following the two-alarm fire that occurred at the Joye R. Kelley Building on Saturday.

According to RPS, there were no injuries were reported, and no one was in the building when the fire started. On Monday, administrative staff worked from home on Monday while RFD continued to investigate the cause of the fire.

Superintendent Dr. Jeff Perry says the fire appears to have started from an outlet.

"It appears that the fire may have started in an electrical outlet. It doesn't appear that there was any negligence or anything at this point. It wasn't a daisy chain set of electrical cords or anything of that nature. It just seems to be within the wall that the fire occurred," Perry said.
