PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Former secretary treasurer for the Pueblo Fire Department Douglas Martin will now spend 60 days in jail and repay over $100,000 in restitution.

This comes after Martin pleaded guilty to embezzling over $131,000 in union funds.

11 News retrieved the arrest papers for Martin, and they say Martin made more than 200 withdrawals from the union’s account over a three-year period. The papers also show these funds were deposited into a personal account.

According to the arrest papers, when Martin was originally confronted about the money, he denied stealing it and offered to pay it back in payments of $1,000.

Also, the affidavit says Captain Phil Chapin of the Pueblo Fire Department, who was president of the union at the time, discovered the missing funds.
