COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A hiker is back on firm ground after a scary night on Cheyenne Mountain.

El Paso County Search and Rescue (EPCSAR) says the hiker slipped 300 feet down the mountain and ended up trapped on a cliff.

An EPCSAR team trekked up the mountain after nightfall, making their way through aspen groves and brush with headlamps and the moon for light.

"Everyone made it safely down the mountain by 0500 this morning," EPCSAR said in a social media post.

EPCSAR did not say whether the hiker suffered any injuries.
