A commercial building is on fire in Hume, with more than four ACT fire trucks attending the blaze.

Emergency services were called to the building at 31 Sawmill Crescent just after 3.30pm on Tuesday.

Four fire trucks are at the scene, as well as a breathing apparatus truck. ACT ambulance is also in attendance.

The address is understood to be the location of Aztec Services Canberra, an asbestos testing company.

Smoke may be visible in the area and the community is asked to avoid the area.

There is no immediate threat to neighbouring properties.
