Heritage NSW has made a decision about whether the next stage of the Orange Sporting Precinct can proceed.

For months, Orange City Council and the government body have been in discussions regarding the $74.5 million development.

Specifically, the issues raised by Heritage were in regards to an updated development application relating to the John Davis Sports Stadium.

These changes were made following a $15 million injection of funding from the Federal Government.

Issues raised by Heritage previously reported by the CWD included a lack of greenery around the carpark and the increased size of the grandstand.

On multiple occasions, Orange councillors have described the scenario as a "political football."
