HENDERSON. Ky. — Indiana and Kentucky employed a helicopter, cheering supporters and lots of talk about how important the whole thing is Monday in a bid to get hundreds of millions in federal cash for the Interstate 69 Ohio River Crossing bridge project.

Specifically, U.S. Rep. James Comer, whose district includes Henderson, Kentucky, said after a news conference that the two states seek a federal bridge improvement grant of $466 million. The money is intended to deliver on the promise of providing cross-river connectivity between Kentucky and Indiana at Henderson and Evansville.
