A federal offender serving a sentence for sexual offences is being sought on a nationwide warrant for breach of statutory release.

Ontario Provincial Police issued a news release Monday night saying the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad is asking for the public’s help in locating James Daniel Mervin Williamson, who is serving a more than 2 1/2-year sentence for sexual interference with a person under 16, exposure to a person under 16 and failure to attend court.

Williamson is white, 50 years old, 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds with a fair complexion and is unshaven with auburn hair and hazel eyes.
