Two lanes on the inbound Edens Expressway were shut down during the busy Tuesday morning commute as Illinois Department of Transportation crews worked to make emergency repairs on a large pothole in the middle of the road.
NBC 5 traffic reporter Kye Martin reported the closures were in Wilmette at Skokie Boulevard, with backups as far north as Tower Road.

As of 6:05 a.m., drive times on the inbound Edens from the north suburbs to Chicago was already at 59 minutes and climbing, Martin said.
"IDOT has blocked it off," Martin said. "Hopefully nobody gets any tire damage."
