DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A rolling strike is hitting the University of Minnesota campuses, including Duluth.

Teamsters Local 320, the union representing the University of Minnesota workers, walked off the job Monday night at the Crookston and Morris campuses.

University of Minnesota Duluth workers joined the picket line at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the union, the University of Minnesota failed to meet the needs of 1,400 workers across its system.

The employees represented by Teamsters Local 320 hold custodial, maintenance, food service, sanitation, and other critical positions.

Friday, the union voted down the latest offer with 82% of members voting no despite leadership calling for members to vote yes.
